Compare the Effectiveness of Carbimazole Single Dose and Divided Dose Regimens for Euthyroid Induction in Hyperthyroid Patients

Objective: The purpose of the current study was to examine effectiveness carbimazole administered as a single dose with divided regimen for inducing euthyroidism in hyperthyroid patients. Study Design: Prospective/Randomized Place and Duration: This conducted at Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar duration from June, 2022 November, 2022. Methods: There were 92 patients hyperthyroidism presented this study. Age, sex, BMI, residency details each enrolled case recorded after receiving informed written consent. Patients into two groups equally. Carbimazole (OD-CMZ) dosage 46 group I, separate doses II (DD-CMZ). For six months, treatment monitored on regular basis (every four weeks). SPSS 22.0 used analyze all data. Results: 54 (58.7%) females 38 (41.3%) males In I mean age 35.13±6.60 years 40.10±8.86 years. Mean disease 3.6±10.57 months 4.3 ±8.35 months. no discernible difference between terms baseline TSH T4 concentrations or their cumulative rates reduction (p-value, 0.014). Frequency final follow up (100%) found 45 (97.8%) cases but is insignificance. Conclusion: study, we came conclusion that more effective way treat since there efficacy greater risk developing hypothyroidism split strategy.
